Why your new casino bonus did not work, and what to do

A bonus fails when one of its terms is not met: a wrong or expired code, a deposit under the minimum, a payment method the offer excludes, an address in a blocked province, a bet over the maximum or wagering left unfinished.

Work out which term failed before you contact support. A missing step can often be fixed after the fact; a broken max-bet rule rarely can.

Problems when you claim

Most failures happen in the first minute. Enter the code at the step the terms name, usually before you confirm the deposit, and deposit at least the stated minimum after any fees. If the deposit lands without the bonus, ask support at once with the transaction reference; casinos fix missed credits far more readily on the same day.

Payment exclusions catch many Canadians. E-wallets such as Skrill and Neteller are often barred from welcome offers because they are used to farm bonuses. Interac and cards are usually allowed, but check the list for each offer.

Problems while you play

A maximum bet, often $5 or 10% of the bonus, applies while wagering is open. One spin above it can void the bonus and every win made with it. Set the stake before you start and do not use autoplay with a higher stake saved.

Game weighting decides how fast wagering moves. At a 10% contribution, $1,000 in blackjack bets clears only $100 of wagering. Some high-RTP slots and all bonus buys are often excluded completely.

Problems when you withdraw

A withdrawal with wagering still open is refused, or it cancels the bonus. Your own deposit balance can normally be withdrawn if you give up the bonus. Verification is the other hurdle: upload ID and proof of address early so the first payout is not held for documents.

Our guide to why new casinos ask for ID explains what is usually asked for.

If support will not help

Ask for the clause the casino relies on, in writing. Keep screenshots of the offer page and the terms from the day you claimed. If the casino still refuses, complain to the regulator named in its licence. Offshore regulators such as Curaçao and Anjouan handle few player complaints, which is a reason to keep balances small at new brands.

Questions

Bonus problems: questions

Why didn't my free spins appear?

Free spins are often tied to one slot and only show when you open that game. If they still do not appear, log out and back in, then ask support with the time of your deposit.

Can I cancel a bonus while wagering?

Usually yes, in the account or bonus section. You lose the bonus and any winnings from it, and keep what is left of your own deposit.

Why is my wagering not moving?

The game may count for little or nothing. The contribution table in the bonus terms gives the rate for each game type.

Why was my bonus removed during play?

Most often a bet above the maximum allowed while wagering, or play on an excluded game. Casinos rarely reverse a max-bet breach.

Why can't I get the offer from Ontario?

Offshore casinos exclude Ontario, which runs its own regulated market. Only AGCO-registered casinos may take Ontario players, and their offers are shown on their own sites.

Can I use two bonuses at once?

Generally not. Most casinos let one bonus run at a time and queue or refuse the next.

Responsible gaming

Play only if you are 19+ and it stays fun

These rules apply on every page of this site. A young casino has less history to judge it by, so the limits matter more.

19+ only

Adults only, everywhere

You must be 19 or older, and older in some countries. A casino can ask for ID before your first withdrawal, and new casinos often do.
